Welcome to Cambridge Counselling Practice.
Counselling, Supervision and Coaching in Cambridge or Online across the UK.
Life can be challenging. At times we may cope well, but at others we can find it more diffiult. This may be due to a specific event, a loss, a change, or a relationship difficulty. Or it may be a general feeling that your current path is no longer working for you. I am a warm, approachable practical counsellor offering both short and long term support. Whether you are facing a specific challenge or feeling stuck more generally, I can provide a space where we can work through things together in a focused and supportive way.
Whatever you are dealing with, your concerns matter. They may feel overwhelming, or they may seem small but persistent. If something is troubling you, it is worth talking about.
Counselling offers you a confidential, thoughtful space away from the demands of everyday life. A place where you can speak freely, without judgement or expectation. Together, we can explore what feels stuck, uncertain or painful or work out the direction you want to take — and begin to understand it more clearly.
Often, it is through being heard and understood change becomes possible.
People come for counselling or coaching for lots of reasons. Some of the most common I work with include:
Bereavement and loss
Loss takes many forms — the death of someone close, the loss of a relationship, a hoped-for future, a role or a stage of life. Grief can feel overwhelming, confusing or isolating. Therapy offers steady support as you process what has happened and begin to find your way forward.
Life transitions and crossroads
Periods of change — marriage, separation, becoming a parent, infertility decisions, returning to work, mid-life transitions, retirement, career shifts — can unsettle even the most capable person. These moments often invite reflection. Counselling provides space to think, feel and decide with clarity.
Pregnancy, birth and perinatal experiences
I offer specialist support around miscarriage, baby loss, stillbirth, IVF and infertility, NICU experiences, postnatal depression, pregnancy after loss, and termination for medical or other reasons. These experiences are deeply personal and often difficult to speak about elsewhere. They are treated here with care and respect.
Relationships
I work with individuals and couples experiencing communication difficulties, affairs, separation, divorce, commitment questions or changing relationship dynamics. Relationship counselling provides a contained, impartial space to speak openly and honestly. I work with both opposite-sex and same-sex couples.
Family dynamics
Family relationships can be layered and emotionally complex — whether with children, parents, step-children, in-laws or within blended families. Therapy can help you understand patterns and navigate these relationships with greater confidence.
Anxiety, depression and self-esteem
If you are feeling low, overwhelmed, anxious or caught in unhelpful patterns, we can work together to understand what lies beneath and develop steadier ways of coping.
Work and professional life
Career decisions, workplace stress, leadership pressures, retirement, or questions around balance and purpose can all benefit from reflective space. Alongside counselling, I offer coaching where appropriate.
A sense of “Life Laundry”
Sometimes there is no single issue — simply a feeling that life feels cluttered or unclear. Therapy can be a place to pause, review and decide what you want to keep and what you are ready to leave behind.
Supervision of other professionals either counsellors, therapists or others such as teachers, medical staff, charity workers etc This can be face to face or online. More information is here
How I Work
I am a fully qualified counsellor, I work with clients from across the UK through secure online sessions, alongside my Cambridge-based Iin person practice.
I work with individuals and couples on either an open-ended basis or for an agreed number of sessions. Our work is collaborative and paced carefully. My aim is not to offer quick solutions, but thoughtful, meaningful change that feels sustainable.
In addition to counselling, I offer coaching and professional supervision for counsellors and other professionals, including those working in education, healthcare and the voluntary sector.
Professional Standards
I am fully accredited by the BACP and a Senior Professional Member of ACTO (Association for Counselling and Therapy Online), recognised by the BACP for online practice.
I have undertaken substantial training to ensure I work ethically, safely and professionally, whether online or face to face. Ongoing professional development and supervision are central to my practice.
